What is an image converter?

An image converter changes an image from one supported file format to another. iToolsEra can convert JPG, PNG and WebP images while keeping the original pixel dimensions unchanged.

Which image formats are supported?

The Image Converter supports JPG, PNG and WebP as input and output formats. This first version focuses on formats that can be reliably processed with the current PHP GD stack.

How does image quality work?

JPG and WebP conversions support a quality setting from 1 to 100. Higher values generally preserve more visual detail and may create larger files. PNG uses lossless encoding and therefore uses an encoding compression level instead of the JPG/WebP quality scale.

What happens to transparent areas?

PNG and WebP output can preserve transparency. When converting an image to JPG, transparent areas are flattened onto a white background because JPG does not support transparency.

Are my original images changed?

No. The original uploaded images are not overwritten. Converted files are created as separate temporary files and are cleaned up according to the iToolsEra temporary-file cleanup process.
